Join the Qabilah
Foster Within is more than a shop or studio—it's a movement. As a dedicated third place for seekers, we offer a sanctuary where community is the medicine and friendship is the practice. Join our Qabilah—a tribe devoted to the ritual of being well together in the heart of Southeast Foster.
Become part of the Qabilah by choosing a membership level inspired by the twelve stages of Arabic friendship—a progression from first acquaintance to soul-connection.
All memberships include a monthly ritual of Saudi Qahwa.

We are building a private, hyper-local social network exclusively for our Qabilah members. We’re creating a dedicated digital space for our community to connect, share rituals, and stay in conversation between visits to the studio.
-
A: Social Acquaintances
1. Zameel (زميل): A "nodding acquaintance" or colleague. You know their name and face, but little else.
2. Jalees (جليس): Someone you are comfortable "sitting with" (e.g., a regular at the same coffee shop or a friend of a friend).
3. Sameer (سمير): A "conversation partner." Someone you enjoy talking to at a party or social event, but don't see privately.
B: Activity/Casual Friends
4. Nadeem (نديم): A "drinking/socializing companion." Historically a drinking buddy, now usually a "hangout" friend you call when you’re bored or want to grab a coffee.
5. Sahib (صاحب): A "companion." In Western terms, this is a standard "friend." They are concerned for your well-being, but the bond may still be situational.
C: Dependable Close Friends
6. Rafeeq (رفيق): A "companion" you can depend on. In the West, this is the friend you’d trust to go on a road trip with or ask for a favor.
7. Sadeeq (صديق): The "true friend." Derived from sidq (truth/honesty). This is a friend who is sincere and has no ulterior motives.
8. Anees (أنيس): Someone you are "familiar" with. This implies a level of relaxation where you can be yourself without a "social mask."
Level 4: Intimate/Soul Connections
9. Khaleel (خليل): An "intimate friend." This is an old-school term for a friend whose love has "penetrated the heart."
10. Najiyy (نجي): A "confidant." Someone you trust with your deepest secrets and vulnerabilities.
11. Safiyy (صفي): The "best friend." The one you have "chosen" and prioritized above all others.
12. Qareen (قرين): The "inseparable." Someone who knows your thoughts before you speak them. This is the closest equivalent to a "Soulmate" or a lifelong "partner-in-crime."
