Because they aren’t traditional.
We honor the profound and ancient wisdom of the practices—like yoga—that originated as a way of life in the eastern part of the world thousands of years ago.
In honoring this lineage, we must also acknowledge that the colonial borders and structures imposed upon that part of the world, and the containers in which this wisdom was brought here, are often limiting to the practice and its roots.
Our commitment is to acknowledge, respect, and practice in a way that frees these powerful traditions from limiting, Westernized containers. We strive to reconnect with the collaborative, culturally rich roots of wellness.

Ayurveda, often called the "science of life," is one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems, originating in what we look at as the eastern part of the world over 4,000 years ago. It operates on the principle that health and wellness depend on a balance between the mind, body, and spirit.
The core of Ayurveda is understanding your unique elemental makeup and aligning your daily life with your natural constitution.
At Foster Within, we integrate Ayurvedic principles into our movement, our shop, and our approach to living well, from the inside out.

Diwaniya is Arabic for a reception hall or dedicated space for gathering. Traditionally, it was a room in a home used to host guests—often for unhurried conversation, connection, and ritual.
It’s where community bonds are strengthened, stories are shared, and time slows down. The hospitality is always warm, and the welcome is genuine.
Our Diwaniya is our designated gathering space—a place to sit, stay a while, and enjoy the experience of Qahwa (Saudi Coffee) and connect with people. It is the heart of the gather element at Foster Within.
