TEAM

Our Team Philosophy:
Guides & Generalists

MASTERS OF NONE

A guide & generalist is someone who moves with agility between roles to support our visitors and Qabilah. Guides curate your experience from the moment you set foot on our corner of SE Foster Road.

A New Kind of Work

We have created a role that values the whole person. A Guide & Generalist will lead a movement session in the Salon and pour your Dallah of Qahwa in the Diwaniya.

Stewards of Ritual

Whether guiding a movement practice or explaining the elements of a feel-good good in the shop, our team aims to foster radical joy and intentional presence.

Multidisciplinary Presence

Our Guides are more than movement instructors or shop clerks; they are practitioners attuned to the internal weather of the mind and body.

Meeting You Where You Are

We are committed to approachable instruction. Our Guides are here to help you notice your own rhythm with nature and discover harmony with your unique needs.

The Faces of Foster Within

Ezra

A Parkour and Gymnastics coach turned baker and farmer’s market vendor, Ezra brings a unique, playful energy to Foster Within. He carries himself like a conduit for good vibes, dedicated to making everyone feel at home in their own skin the moment they step into our space.

With a cheeky spirit and a deep reverence for practice, Ezra cultivates sanctuary by staying connected to the “creature-side” of being human. Whether he is guiding a session or talking to you about the benefits of mushrooms, he shows up with a grounded presence that offers soul-level comfort for our Qabilah to safely unfurl.

Join Ezra for: Flow for Mobility and Flow for Presence

Indigo

Indigo is an embodiment guide, movement educator, and multidisciplinary artist devoted to helping people connect with their bodies, creativity, and authentic expression. With over a decade of experience supporting body-based learning, she creates inclusive, curiosity-driven spaces where exploration and deep listening unfold.

Indigo invites you to tune into your inner rhythms. She is here to help our Qabilah rediscover the intuitive wisdom alive within the “wild nature” of your own body.

Nicki

Nicki brings over two decades of experience to the floor, exploring the dialogue between the body and the mind. She creates ground-up sequences that invite you to listen to your body and “come home” to yourself.

Outside the Movement Salon, Nicki cultivates her own sanctuary through daily rituals—time in nature, incense, and journaling. Whether she is guiding a flow or sharing a quiet moment over a cup of coffee, Nicki shows up with a warm, vibrant presence, dedicated to the art of managing energy and holding space for our Qabilah to leave feeling better than when they arrived.

Areej Khan

Founder
Creative Mover, Maker, and Master of None

Areej’s work has always been about the architecture of belonging. With over two decades of experience spanning New York, Saudi Arabia, and Portland, she has navigated the worlds of design, hospitality, and somatics— to find and solve for one big need: a place to be well, together.

The Architecture of Connection

With an MFA in Design Entrepreneurship from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York, Areej’s foundation is in design thinking to touch people’s hearts. She spent years curating how people move through physical spaces and digital stories. At Foster Within, she has applied design thinking to every detail—from the drapey ceilings that soften the Movement Salon to louvers in our partition wall.

The Hospitality of the Third Place

As the co-founder of the former A Part Café during COVID, Areej learned that the most vital spaces in a neighborhood are the ones that fill in the in betweens. Her background in hospitality isn't just about service; it’s about sharing radical joy in a universal language.

The Somatic Bridge

Areej is a 200-hour RYT, a Holistic Pregnancy & Birth Partner, and a Trauma-Informed SAH Method Coach. These aren't just certifications; they are the tools she uses to guide every type of session she leads and how she shows up every day.

By stitching together design, ritual, and movement, Areej is creating a sanctuary that meets you exactly where you are—unhurried, intentional, and present.
