The Diwaniya: Our Heart-Space

The Foster Within Diwaniya is a place for our Qabilah (tribe) to sit and stay a while. After moving together in the Salon, we gather here to breathe, connect, and practice the art of lingering and being together .

The Ritual of Saudi Qahwa

We are proud to be home to the only Deem Arab Dallah machine in Portland. This specialized machine allows us to authentically brew Saudi Qahwa right here on SE Foster for our community.

What is Qahwa?

More than just coffee, Saudi Qahwa is a light gold-roasted coffee brewed with cardamom and saffron and served in small cups to encourage a grounding, unhurried flow and connection. It is a gesture of welcome and a centerpiece of gathering that invites you to slow down and savor the moment. Available to Foster Within Qabilah members.

To ensure the heart of this sanctuary was true, Areej sourced our Diwaniya furniture directly from Saudi Arabia. These pieces were custom-made for Foster Within—an intentional journey that even required becoming a registered importer to bring this vision to life.
